Small Home, Great Mission!

Small Home, Great Mission!

For parent-educators this time of year is often difficult and discouraging. We question ourselves, looking for the motivation to go on, fatigue sets in, the lack of light causes depression in many… Some children are contrary, confrontation and exasperation are in the air… Sometimes we ask ourselves if it wouldn’t be better to finally pack it all in.

Perhaps it is a good opportunity to remember the important (and wonderful!) mission that God has given us: bringing up small human beings, our own children, to lead them towards Heaven! What an enormous privilege we have to be the parents of these precious people that God has entrusted to us. It is a bit dizzying to think of our enormous task of teaching and educating our children to prepare them for the Kingdom of God, isn’t it?

How can we be certain that we are successfully accomplishing this project, we who are so limited, so imperfect, and so impatient at times? Don’t we risk ruining the future of our children if we don’t correctly fulfill all our obligations, or if we don’t give them all the support and attention they need? We cannot achieve this great work that God wants to accomplish in each of our small homes all alone…

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.”

Psaume 127:1

Therefore, let us entrust God with each one of our worries, each one of our weaknesses; ask Him to guide our homeschool  down to the smallest details according to his will. After all, it is HIS work, and it is He who will accomplish it by His grace!

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

Philippiens 1:6
